QuickList - Personal Property Inventory Software
copyright (c) Key System Software Development Co., 1987
This disk contains several files including "EXE" files, the
AUTOEXEC, and several sample data files. The program must be
set-up on a system disk; either the hard disk, or another floppy
with the system already installed. On a fixed disk it is
recommended that you create a directory "INVENTRY" where your
program and data files will reside. On systems without a fixed
drive, It is recommended you keep your data files on a separate
disk
To set-up the program to run, put this program in the "A:"
drive, change. Type "A:". Then run the setup program by typing
SETUP <B:|C:>. This will identify where you wish the program to
installed. If the COMMAND.COM file of system disk can not be
found, the Setup program will announce their is an error, and
stop. (See your dos manual to format a system disk.) The
program may be entered either by the AUTOEXEC.BAT or by typing
PROPERTY. This program will create several additional files.
Data files are noted: FILEn.DTA. Other files include "D" and
"SETUP.DTA".
This disk is not copy protected, so you may copy this
program using standard DOS commands; COPY or DISKCOPY. You are
encouraged to copy and pass this software along, under the

made.

software, and agree to pass it along.

concept that the small software producers can continue to bring
you useful tools to make your life easier, and perform the tasks
you expect from your computer. A registration form can be
produced from your program. Follow the directions on the
SHAREWARE page of the program and registration form will be
printed on your printer.

REVISION NOTES
1.73 Thanks to your cards and letters, a problem was identified
with the recognition of the Mouse Driver. If you believe
you are having a problem in this area, add the tag "/NM" to
your command line:
PROPERTY /NM
This will prevent the program from even going and looking
the first time. The program will just understand that you
have no mouse that it can use.
PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS:
Should you find the program dies just after the Floating Key
Screen, about the time it says it is looking for data files, the
problem is most likely that the software can not locate your DOS
COMMAND.COM program. The best solution is to copy it from your
DOS disk to the QuickList disk. Space may be tight on the
origional, however, depending on hich version of DOS you are
using so you may wish to manually COPY PROPERTY.EXE and
COMMAND.COM to a fresh disk. PROPERTY will create all of the
other files it requires to run. Relocate the new disk to the A:
drive, and at the A:> prompt type PROPERTY. Everything should
now run fine. You will find it necessary to use MENU item 9 to
tell the sysem where your data will be kept; B: or C: etc.
